O’KEY Group – one of the leading food retailers in the CIS, operating 199 stores across 77 hypermarkets and 122 discounters with a total selling space of 602,164 square meters. The company launched e-commerce operations offering a full range of hypermarket products for home delivery. It operates five distribution centers and employs more than 20,000 people.
Warehouse upgrade was a part of O’KEY’s hypermarket development strategy and a way to keep the leadership position in the retail market. The key goal of the project was to create a modern industrial IT platform to enhance the automation of O’KEY’s logistics centers: from receiving and placing goods on shelves to picking, shipping, and subsequent organization and storage. The project was carried out in partnership with TeamIdea.
The rollout of the system began at one of O’KEY’s distribution centers, which handled over 20,000 SKUs. Following this initial implementation, SAP EWM was deployed across all 5 of O’KEY’s DCs.
As a result of WMS implementation, the warehouse throughput increased, and order picking time was significantly reduced. The new system enabled real-time tracking of all warehouse operations, more efficient planning of staff workload, and monitoring of warehouse employees’ KPIs. The equipment routing was optimized and overall productivity was significantly boosted.
