- Warehouse Management (based on SAP EWM)
BEZANT-1 is one of the main players of Russian household market as well as in the sector of tableware and kitchen appliances.
The company includes:
- Small-scale wholesale warehouse «Cash & Carry», with a total area of 2 500 sq.m;
- Warehouses of high pallet storage with a total area of 10 000 sq.m;
- Own lorry fleet.
Every year the number of regular customers increases. Currently there are more than 250 Russian companies in such cities as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Saratov, Nizhny Novgorod, Ekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Barnaul, Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Kemerovo, etc. The Company delivers goods in the following network shops: METRO, Auchan, Globe, Castorama, Maxidom, O' К, REAL, Uyuterra, etc.
Cooperation of Bezant-1 and TeamIdea started in January, 2011 within the project on SAP ECC (ERP) implementation.
Project goals
February 2014 - Moscow - TeamIdea announces successful conclusion of the project for implementation of SAP EWM in TC «Bezant-1».
Collaboration on the project has began in 2013, when the magnitude and specificity of business demanded of the decision to build a new modern warehouse of class "A", with a total area of storage space: about 22 000 square meters.
For effective management of warehouse space and resources of new warehouse the Customer decided to implement a modern system of warehouse management based on information system SAP SCM EWM.
The main task of the project was the formation of technical capability to manage all work processes, as well as achieving maximum performance and capacity of the warehouse, improving accuracy and reducing the time of recruitment and placement of goods in the most efficient use of resources.
The project included a number of complex tasks, namely:
- Organization of bin location of goods;
- Automatic planning and management of warehouse tasks by SAP EWM;
- Organization of management resources in the warehouse (employees, equipment, storage facilities);
- Control of the resource productivity;
- Organization and control of interaction of warehouse employees;
- Achieving maximum warehouse performance and it's throughput;
- Optimizing the workload of warehouse workers;
- Reducing the requirements for warehouse staff due to the management of warehouse processes by SAP EWM.
In addition, during the project, the transfer of project knowledge on the part of the performer to the project participants from the side of the customer.
Organizational scope of the project:
- Total area of storage space: about 22,000 square meters;
- Narrow passage racks: About 40,000 cells (1200x800x1400, 8 levels, 21 passeges);
- Wide-aisle racks of about 3000 cells (1200x800x1700, 7 levels, 2 passages);
- Racks in the acceptance zone: About 100 cells (1200x800x1700, 3 levels);
- Floor storage in the acceptance area: about 220 cells;
- Operating mode: 24/7, 2 shifts per day, 4 shifts;
- Total number of staff: About 90 people per shift;
- 5 gate acceptance, 10 gateway dispatch;
- Simultaneous use in the narrow passage zone of several types of moving equipment: For box-type selection of orders of low-level order pickers, for pallet processing of narrow-pass stackers;
- Availability of working areas for the production of value-added services (marking, assembly).
At the moment has the customer already begun to support the system and is seriously focused on its further development.
